Happy 2012! Happy? This isn't what I was hoping for in 2008 when news Barack Obama was going to become the 44 President of the United States.
Popout
It's obvious, in 2012, the American people are getting even less of a voice in these matters as the Democrat establishment won't run a challenger against the greatest failure of a president ever, and the Republican establishment pushes for a man who launched the pilot program for Obamacare in his home state of Massachusetts as governor.
In a year, where Obamacare and its loss of liberties due to the federal mandate should be one of the deciding factors of whether Barack Obama keeps his job, the establishment looks quite content in removing the entire Obamacare debate from the 2012 debate by making Mitt Romney their favorite son. Of course, why shouldn't the Republican party want Romney and Romneycare, which Obamacare is modeled after? After all, Romneycare is the GOP and Heritage Foundation's alternative to Hillarycare delivered by Congress in 1994. You don't honestly believe in the GOP's promise to repeal and replace do you when you consider how the establishment is playing political games to ensure Romney's nomination and the fact Romney was instrumental in making the GOP's healthcare plan the law of the land?
So this is what 2012 is shaping up to be. Romneycare vs. Obamacare--no choice for the American people as big government is assured no matter how many times Mitt Romney claims he is a conservative. He is a failed governor who grew government and made healthcare less accessible just like Obama has successfully done.
The New York Post pointed out about Romneycare:
In fact, we have already seen the start of this process in Massachusetts, where Mitt Romney’s health care reforms were nearly identical to President Obama’s. Romney’s reforms increased the demand for health care but did nothing to expand the supply of physicians. In fact, by cracking down on insurance premiums, Massachusetts pushed insurers to reduce their payments to providers, making it less worthwhile for doctors to expand their practices. As a result, the average wait to get an appointment with a doctor grew from 33 days to over 55 days.
One would think considering the Obama hangover the morning after the 2008 election, the numbers 2012 would be joyous, with more big government delivered either way come November, Americans are the ultimate loser as both political establishments have given Americans little choice--Romneycare or Obamacare. You choose.
I won't be voting for either.
