First of all, I don’t believe him. If this was really just about his own grief over his attractions and his fight against himself, he wouldn’t be using his sexual attraction to children to demonize the evil right. He has an agenda, and it’s not purity or the protection of children from the likes of him (really, it’s not, based on his history alone, even if you can’t read between the lines of this piece of propaganda piece).
If he was as horrified by his supposed predilection as he ought to be, he would have no time to be horrified and disgusted by the political right and he would not be making this a right vs left issue. He would be speaking to counselors, to ministers, to priests. He would be too ashamed to announce this to the world. His screed is not seeking help. Salon readers cannot help him, they can only enable him, stroke his ego, and be swayed by his siren song of justification.
Rather than sincere confession and asking for help, he is subtly justifying his temptations and attempting to make them just normal, every day stuff, same as you or me. Oh, hard stuff, yes. He gives lip service to that- calls it a ‘handicap,’ thus making his vile and wicked desire to unleash his carnal nature on innocent children pretty much just the same as my own handicapped daughter’s brain trauma and subsquent severe cognitive disorder.
That alone makes me want to wretch. This is not a handicap. It’s a sinful, evil desire to selfishly gratify your carnal nature on an innocent victim who cannot fight back. It’s a temptation to sin, yes. Handicap, no.
His temptations are about raping children. That’s not something that can or should be normalized or sympathized with and anybody making the attempt should be barred from any contact with children forever.
Secondly, I don’t believe him. I doubt he is really harmless or fighting his propensities, and I would question the goals of his group- I would be shocked if an investigation did *not* turn up a child pornography ring. Look at his past and the things he has supported. He is a known, long term activist for pedophilia. He was outed for his activism. That’s the only reason he’s talking now about how much moral credit we should all give him for not raping little kids- and vaguely threatening that if he doesn’t get all the love and kudos and gold stickers he wants for not acting on his monstrous fantasies, if people are gonna be mean to the poor man with this sad handicap of wishing to prey sexually upon the weakest members of society, then he rhetorically asks, why does he have any reason *not* act on his monstrous fantasies? Why, indeed. People nod in sympathy. If you’re going to be hung for sheep stealing, might as well be hung for lamb raping as well, yes?

Why on earth not? Well, because those desires are monstrous- that’s why. But apparently that reason isn’t enough for him.
Thirdly- I don’t believe him. I believe the goal is the same as it was for the sin of homosexuality, It’s progressive propaganda and we fell for it before. First it was all about mere tolerance, and sympathy- it’s such a hard life, nobody would choose it, have compassion and sympathy. Tch tch tch- poor dears. They need *help.* That’s where this fight to make us comfortable with child rape is right now.
Then it was no longer tolerance or help, but acceptance. That’s where we are going to be led to next, just as we were with the homosexual movement.
And then we will abandon the pretense that anybody ever cared about ‘helping’ these poor people, or tolerance, and total capitulation will be demanded- we must not merely tolerate, but celebrate this lifestyle. It’s part of rich and colourful diversity, and children are sexual beings and free agents- the left has been heading that direction for a long time. Don’t believe me? The UN is vocal on the sexual rights of ten year olds, and not in a good way. The sexual revolution of the left has always victimized children.
Compassion? Remove the righteous and completely correct horror and disgust society has for adults who have sexual fantasies about children, and what do you imagine the result will be? Fewer child victims? Fewer predations by predatory monsters who view children as appropriate objects for their carnal desires? Of course not- there will be more. Horrified compassion is about as far as I am prepared to go, but mostly the emphasis is on the horror, because he’s not just interested in sexualizing children, he’s interested in changing our culture.
So I wrote all the above, and then I learned that this poor, poor, struggling victim of temptation; this man who insists he is a righteous pedophile, fighting this pathetic handicap- he admits if we lived in a ‘sex positive’ society and it was legal, he absolutely would act on his sick fantasies with a child.
Not help- that's not his goal. Acceptance. Tolerance, and one day, legalization- and then access.
And he’s not the only one working to change the cultural attitude toward this plague:
Think about the transgender issues- children are being encouraged to ‘choose’ their own gender- even mutilate themselves surgically and chemically, delay puberty, and more- as though these were appropriate decisions for them to make before they’ve even gotten old enough to properly understand consequences. Children who are still at the age where they tend to think the other sex is icky and has cooties are encouraged to explore their sexuality and to consider whether or not they might be gay. If they can choose their own gender, what is the reason for denying them the right to ‘choose’ to have sex with adults? Currently, it’s just a bit of leftover cultural ickiness holding back the SJW’s collective acceptance of child molestation as just another lifestyle choice. It’s clearly not logic.
Wake up. Where is a Puddleglum to stamp out this hallucinogenic fire and bring our culture to its senses?
