CORSICANA – More than 18 inches of rain caused severe flash flooding in Navarro County through Saturday morning, prompting nearly three dozen water rescues and causing part of a Union Pacific freight train to go under water, officials said.
“We still having water rescues ongoing,” Navarro County Judge H.M. Davenport told CBS 11 News. “People won’t play it safe and instead continue to try to drive where they should not go.”

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth put the county under its highest flash flood emergency and warned an additional six to eight inches of rain could fall through the day.
According to officials with Union Pacific, the 64-car train came south out of Midlothian heading towards Houston carrying cement.
